Step Up 2024

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Step Up for Mental Health 5K in Cobourg in 2023!
We had over 600 participants registered and raised over $50,000 for local mental health initiatives in Northumberland County.

For 2024, Ontario participants can register for a 5K run/walk in Cobourg, a golf tournament in Blind River, or a golf tournament in Port Hope - or all three! Registrations for the run/walk and Blind River golf tournament are now open. Stay tuned for Port Hope golf tournament details.

Cameco has announced that its Step Up for Mental Health 5K fun run/walk will take place on May 11, 2024, at Victoria Park in Cobourg starting at 8:30 a.m. The event is open to the community and participants will be treated to a fun, inspirational experience on a beautiful course that highlights Cobourg’s historic downtown core and waterfront parks.

Early bird registration is open now for $50 until March 17. On March 18, registration increases to $55 and registration after April 21 is $60. Participants will receive a running t-shirt, sweatshirt, bag and medal. Registration for students (ages 8-17) is $30 and includes a sweatshirt, bag and medal.

Participation is free for individuals who struggle with addictions and/or mental health issues – but registration is still required. A staff member/formal support person accompanying someone in this category can also sign up for free.

Every dollar of the entry fee, plus a matching amount from Cameco, supports the Cameco Fund for Mental Health (established through the Saskatoon Community Foundation). These funds are disbursed annually to organizations undertaking projects that promote or support mental health in Northumberland County and area.

For anyone not able to participate but still wanting to make a donation or pledge another participant, donation and pledge options are available on the registration page. Donations of $20 or more are eligible for a tax receipt from the Saskatoon Community Foundation.

The Cameco Charity Golf Tournament is back and bigger than ever with events in both Blind River and Port Hope!
